AMSE™ (Association of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs) connects Military Spouse business owners with the tools and resources needed to become successful in launching and growing their businesses. AMSE is an Exclusive Community for Military Spouse Entrepreneurs™ to Start, Scale, and Sustain their businesses.
Being a military spouse goes beyond just being a supportive partner to a military member. It entails adapting to the unique challenges that come with it, including constant moving and financial instability. However, this does not mean that military spouses cannot pursue their passion for entrepreneurship. With AMSE’s exclusive course, military spouses can now gain valuable insights on how to start and grow their businesses, despite the hurdles that come with military life. The course is specifically designed with military spouses in mind, consisting of 7 units filled with engaging videos, helpful worksheets, and additional resources.
Our Methodology
Navigating entrepreneurship is no easy feat, especially for those who may have other priorities, such as raising a family or supporting a spouse who serves in the military. That’s why having the right resources and support can make all the difference for military spouses. When we designed this workbook, we knew we had to consider the unique challenges that military spouses face when starting and running a business.
Our team worked closely with the AMSE leadership team to ensure that we aligned with the curriculum structure and created a resource that was easy to follow and structured in a way that didn’t feel overwhelming. This is why we created icons for specific sections in our workbook — to help military spouses easily differentiate each section as they navigate the workbook. These icons prompt ideation, worksheets, and resources, further contributing to an organized and streamlined process.
Structuring Information
As we tackled the challenge of creating a visually engaging curriculum, we approached the process with a strategic mindset. Drawing from our experiences as learners, we knew a visual hierarchy was key to retaining information. Therefore, we delved deeply into the curriculum details, considering each piece from a military spouse’s perspective. Through careful analysis and organization, we crafted a design highlighting the most essential information while still giving value to smaller details. Our goal was not to simply copy and paste the information, but to truly understand and internalize it.
